In the second half of the afternoon, Andy Bond from Axelera will deliver an interactive training session on: “AVL and Python-Based Hardware Test-benches – A Scalable, License-Free Solution That Runs on a Mid-Range Laptop.”

With powerful open-source HDL simulators like Verilator now supporting Python-based test benches via CocoTB, advanced, commercial-grade verification is achievable without expensive licenses or high-performance servers. Andy’s presentation and hands-on tutorial will demonstrate how AVL introduces modern test-bench features — such as factory, sequences, and coverage — and provide a step-by-step guide to developing complete hardware design projects on a standard laptop.
